Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can leave a confidential voicemail at 818-208-5817. Dr. Fruchtbaum checks her voicemail several times a day on weekdays and at least once per day on weekends and holidays. Non-emergency calls received over the weekend might not be returned until the following Monday. If you prefer, you can also contact her by using the form on the contact page. However, as noted on that page, both the security and prompt delivery of email cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, please do not include sensitive clinical information in emails and never use email in an emergency.

At what time does Dr. Fruchtbaum offer appointments?

She offers both daytime and evening appointments. However, the immediate availability of openings varies. Please contact her to see if she can find a mutually convenient time to meet.

What is Dr. Fruchtbaum's cancellation policy?

She has a standard 24-hour cancellation policy. She asks that you give her at least a 24-hours notice if you will be unable to attend a scheduled session. Please note that insurance generally does not reimburse for missed sessions and in these situations you will be responsible for a late cancellation penalty.
Dr. Fruchtbaum charges $100 for appointments that are not attended or cancelled within 24 hours.

Does Dr. Fruchtbaum accept insurance?

Dr. Fruchtbaum is a participating provider for Medicare and Aetna Insurances. Please call the membership number on the back of your insurance card and use the "Find a Doctor" link to verify participation status in your specific plan. She will need to obtain your membership information prior to your first meeting in order to verify benefits.

If you do not have one of the stated insurances then you should know that many health insurance plans will reimburse the insured individual for some portion of the out-of-network outpatient psychotherapy fee. To determine the extent of your particular coverage, please read your health insurance contract carefully and call the benefits department at your insurer directly.
